Pour tomber un Kit Chaîne et le changer, les choses varient pas mal d’une bécane à l’autre, mais voici quelques réponses aux questions que l’on se pose communément. Chaîne fermée ou chaîne ouverte? 1er cas de figure la chaîne passe autour du bras oscillant… Et vous pouvez sortir votre chaîne, donc en réinstaller une, sans avoir à l’ouvrir, ni rien avoir à démonter. Vous pouvez donc acheter une chaîne fermée, sertie en usine. 2e possibilité, la chaîne passe dans le renfort du bras oscillant : Ici la question ne se pose pas, (le renfort est soudé), il vous faut ouvrir la chaîne pour la sortir, et installer une chaîne ouverte que vous fermerez-vous même. Dérive chaîne ou meuleuse pour le démontage, rive chaîne pour le remontage… Pas de frayeur c’est du faisable. 3e possibilité, elle passe derrière l’axe, dans le bras oscillant : certains feront le choix de démonter le bras, afin de ne pas avoir à ouvrir l’ancienne chaîne, et surtout afin d’installer une chaîne fermée en usine… Cela dit, ça représente tout de même pas mal de boulot, et certains préfèreront ouvrir l’ancienne chaîne et sertir la nouvelle. Bien choisir sa démultiplication. Le remplacement du Kit chaîne peut être l’occasion d’affiner la motricité en jouant sur la démultiplication. En racing par exemple certains vont jusquà modifier leur démultiplication en fonction de chaque circuit De même, l’achat d’un pignon ayant une dent d’écart en plus ou en moins permettra de faire évoluer la motricité en fonction des besoins : Un pignon plus petit, ou une couronne plus grande pour augmenter les accélérations, mais en limitant la vitesse de pointe. Un pignon plus grand, ou une couronne plus petite pour tirer plus long et pousser la vitesse de pointe, mais avec moins d’accélérations. Ouvrir ou sertir une chaîne moto. Dériver (dériveter) une chaîne moto sans souci : Pour dériver pas de problème : soit vous avez un dérive chaîne, soit vous meulez les extrémités des deux axes sur un maillion de la chaîne, puis avec un tournevis vous faites sauter la plaque du maillon. Ensuite vous retirez celui-ci comme vous le feriez pour une attache rapide. River (riveter) une chaîne moto : Pour refermer la chaîne vous avez deux solutions : soit elle est livrée avec une attache rapide. Ce qui est plutôt simple et… (Mais souvent réservé aux petites et moyennes cylindrées). Soit, il vous faut sertir vous même le dernier maillon. Vous y parvindrez avec un rive-chaîne, lequel coûte en général moitié moins cher qu’une installation en atelier… Et vous sera utile pour plusieurs installations, ou pour raccourcir votre chaîne. Evitez absolument le marteau pour dériver et pire encore pour river : D’abord le résultat ne sera pas garanti, et une chaîne qui s’ouvre à pleine vitesse… C’est plus que dangereux. Ensuite parce que vous pouvez fausser la chaîne et provoquer des usures malsaines. Quelques conseils de démontage / remontage. Avant de vous lancer mesurez l’usure réelle de votre Kit Chaîne. Choisir le bon type de chaîne : La règle de base, est dabord de ne jamais prendre une qualité inférieure à celle dorigine. Ensuite vous pouvez monter en gamme suivant votre type dutilisation. En fonction du type de conduite. Plus votre conduite est sportive et plus votre machine est puissante, plus les à-coups sur la chaîne seront importants. Et donc, plus vous devrez monter en qualité. Un parcours tourisme en routière ne demande évidemment pas la même fiabilité quune utilisation MX, Trial ou GP(ou Quad, qui sollicitent beaucoup la transmission secondaire). En fonction du type de parcours : De même, la dureté de lenvironnement jouera. Les utilisations MX, enduro, trial etc, sont plus agressives que les circuits routiers. Dans ce type de cas, on préférera donc les chaînes Oring, à joints toriques qui seront mieux protégées de leau, de la boue, du sable toutes ces petites choses que la mécanique adore. Après remontage re-réglez la tension de la chaîne avec le poids du pilote, voire un peu plus, si vous emmenez souvent un passager adulte. Pour le remontage de la couronne, mettez 2 gouttes de graisse puissant sur le filetage des boulons. C’est une partie de la moto fortement soumises aux vibrations et aux chocs. Pensez que sur certains modèles, le changement de démultiplication peut entraîner un changement dans la mesure de la vitesse. Pensez à faire la correction. Important : Toujours régler la tension avec le pilote assis sur la moto La tension de la chaîne change avec le débattement de la suspension. Il est donc essentiel de faire ces réglages moto chargée, sous peine de vous retrouver avec une chaîne beaucoup plus tendue que prévu. Il est donc nécessaire dêtre deux pour effectuer lopération. Retendre la chaîne : Après avoir juste débloqué l’écrou d’axe de roue arrière, et le contre-écrou de chaque tendeur, vissez progressivement le tendeur côté chaîne (pour arriver à la bonne tension), puis vissez l’autre de la même façon. Les tendeurs tirent l’axe de roue vers l’arrière, et tendent ainsi la chaîne. Servez vous des repères sur chaque tendeur, afin de les régler de façon identique. Vérifier si la roue est centrée : Vous pouvez vérifier lalignement de la roue grâce aux graduations situées sur le bras oscillant, ou en mesurant la distance quil y a entre les extrémités de l’axe du bras oscillant et les extrémités de l’axe de roue arrière. Qui doivent bien sûr, être à égale distance de chaque coté. Resserrer la roue : Avant de bloquer les écrous et contre écrous, vérifiez que l’axe de roue soit bien en contact contre les tendeurs. De même assurez-vous que les vis des tendeurs sont bloqués en position, et non pas lâches. Re-vérifiez le réglage après serrage final. Il arrive que les réglages bougent pendant le serrage. Pour éviter davoir fait tout ça pour rien, une fois que tout est bloqué, vérifiez à nouveau la tension de la chaîne et l’alignement de la roue. Faut-il rôder un kit-chaîne? En général, on part de lidée que toute pièce roulante doit être rôdée. Sur le kit-chaîne, cest peut-être moins visible que sur des segments (casse/serrage), des pneus (chute) ou des plaquettes (glaçage), mais cela favorise pourtant une bonne mise en place des trois éléments, (Chaîne, pignon, couronne), et allonge dautant plus leur durée de vie.
